Alongside school, not instead of it
Many Mississauga and Brampton families come to us while their child is also receiving, or waiting for, school-based support through the Peel District School Board. Private speech therapy at Speech Haven runs alongside those services, not in place of them. We focus on the specific communication goals you are seeing at home and in the community, and we can share progress updates with your consent so the work stays connected across settings.
The school-year timeline
The school-year timeline for a Peel family usually looks like this. In early fall, families book a free 15-minute consult and, if it is a fit, an assessment. Through the fall and winter, weekly sessions build momentum while school routines settle. Around report-card time and into the spring, we review progress and adjust goals, often coordinating with school meetings or Individual Education Plan (IEP) discussions when families ask us to. Over the summer, many families continue with sessions or join a group program, so skills stay sharp before the new school year begins.
No waitlist to start
Because we are private, there is no waitlist to start. You can begin at any point in the school year, and you stay in control of the schedule, the goals, and what gets shared with the school.

Our Mississauga clinic is a short drive from Brampton, sitting just south of the Brampton border along the Highway 401 and 407 corridors. For Brampton families, the trip to the clinic is straightforward, with on-site parking right at the door. Brampton is also one of the cities we serve for in-home sessions, so if the drive is not convenient, one of our clinicians can come to you.
Hindi and Urdu are among the languages listed on this page, and they are spoken by many Brampton families. We match you with the right clinician on the intake call, subject to location and clinician availability.

Our Mississauga clinic is a short drive for families in Mississauga, Brampton, and Etobicoke, with on-site parking right at the door. If the drive is not convenient, our clinicians also provide in-home visits across these communities, and virtual sessions are available anywhere in Ontario. We see children, teens, and adults, from early language through adult speech, language, and swallowing support.

Funding, access and languages
How to access care.
Insurance
Most private extended health plans cover Speech-Language Pathology services. Coverage varies by provider. Check your plan for annual limits, referral requirements, and SLP vs. CDA coverage.
OAP funding
Families can use OAP funding for eligible services. We provide detailed invoices that meet OAP reimbursement requirements. We are an Autism Ontario regulated service provider.
Referrals
Families can book directly with Speech Haven. Some insurance plans may require a physician referral for reimbursement, so check your plan.
Languages
Speech therapy is most effective in your natural language. Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Urdu, Vietnamese. Plus foundational Cantonese and Mandarin. Available subject to location and clinician availability. We match you with the right clinician on the intake call.
